The Energy Policy Act of 2005, the Energy Independence and Security Act of 2007, and the Energy Act of 2020 all require energy and water metering of federal buildings. Aside from these requirements, metering is gaining interest as our nation’s infrastructure moves towards smart grids and resilience planning.
