Addressing pressing cybersecurity
issues of today and tomorrow
For more than two decades, Pacific Northwest National Laboratory (PNNL) has advanced resilient cyber capabilities to thwart adversaries seeking to infiltrate and damage our national security through digital means.
Working in partnership with government agencies and industry, we deliver first-of-a-kind solutions to protect the nation's critical strategic assets. Heavily rooted in a scientific perspective, our methodologies, algorithms, and tools enable stronger, more resilient technologies and systems to analyze threats and understand, predict, and control complex adaptive systems.
Our approach equips cyber defenders to test and evaluate technology, detect and repair vulnerabilities, monitor and isolate adversaries, and predict and prevent cyberattacks. Our testbed capability provides realistic testing and adversarial training capabilities to assess the security and performance of software, hardware, mobile platforms, and commodity devices. In addition, our teams develop and provide highly specialized training by modeling real-world information technology and operational technology enterprise networks. We use interactive training, testing, and assessment toolkits to assess the security and performance of software, hardware, mobile platforms, and other devices.
Our current research and development efforts are focused on understanding, evaluating, and developing trusted systems for critical infrastructure. We understand the importance of proactive research and evaluation of cybersecurity systems to better defend against adversaries. And, we are developing and implementing innovative tools and methods to aid in the discovery and insight of information for greater situational awareness. To these challenges, we bring expertise in information assurance, computer network defense operations and development, system architectures and integration, mission assurance and resilience, assessments and evaluations, and software development.
