national security threats
Pacific Northwest National Laboratory (PNNL) is merging its rich history in threat analysis with our expertise in cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, machine learning, sensors systems, radio frequency, next-generation communications, discovery science, and Internet of Things connectivity. Our forward-leaning focus on the nexus of these technologies allows PNNL to address the challenges presented by a hyper-connected, physical-digital world reliant on edge computing to create autonomy at a whole new level, changing the future threat landscape.
We detect, analyze, and evaluate evolving and emerging national security threats across the physical and digital domains. Multidisciplinary experts collaborate to identify and understand vulnerabilities, assess risks, model scenarios, and pioneer solutions.
Over the past decade, PNNL’s research and development in threat analysis has garnered attention from many partners who acknowledge PNNL’s leadership in this field. Completing this important mission requires a new way of working in areas that may have never been combined before.
Additionally, as the only marine laboratory in the Department of Energy’s national laboratory complex, PNNL’s Marine and Coastal Research Laboratory is uniquely positioned to research and develop technologies directed at detecting and responding to national and global maritime threats.
