Biography

Mr. Michael Minette is a professional project manager with more than 37 years of project experience. He has managed more than 100 projects. He holds certifications as a professional project manager and a professional engineer in addition to an MBA in finance.

Michael joined Pacific Northwest National Laboratory (PNNL) in 2007. Since 2020, he’s led the Nuclear Systems Analysis team in the Nuclear Sciences Division. This team works with radiological and nuclear particle detection systems and equipment, focusing on material detection and location at international borders. He also is project manager for the Laboratory Respirator Cartridge Testing system, which conducts advanced multi-vapor performance evaluations for the Hanford Site’s nuclear waste tank farms.

He previously led the technical team for the Combined National Laboratory Full-Scale Vessel Testing Project supporting qualification testing of pulse jet mixing nuclear waste vessels. He’s also been part of PNNL teams involved with the Waste Isolation Pilot Plant, the Plutonium Finishing Plant, the Vapors and Waste Treatment Plant—all high-risk, high-importance, NQA-1 Nuclear QA efforts.

From 1991 to 2007, Michael was a project manager with Fluor Hanford, where he largely focused on the Plutonium Finishing Plant decommissioning project.

Previous positions were with Washington Irrigation & Development Co. at the Centralia Coal Mine (1986-1990) and the Candelaria Silver Mine in Nevada for NERCO Minerals Hawthorne (1983-1985).
