PNNL is 17 miles from the Tri-Cities Airport (PSC), which is located in neighboring Pasco. The airport is served by major airlines, including Delta, United, Alaska, and Horizon Air. We look forward to seeing you.

Visitor Requirements

Federal regulations require that visitors receive authorization prior to arrival at PNNL, and that they get a visitor’s badge upon arrival on campus. Please read the following badging procedures for U.S. citizens and foreign nationals:

U.S. Citizens

U.S. citizens must present valid, government-issued photo identification such as a U.S. passport or state-issued driver’s license. State driver’s licenses and identification cards must meet the REAL-ID ACT OF 2005 standards established by the Department of Homeland Security.

Visitors with state driver’s licenses or identification cards that do not comply with REAL ID standards will be permitted access to facilities only when escorted by a PNNL employee.

Foreign Nationals

Lawful Permanent Residents (LPR) of the United States must present a valid LPR card or evidence of lawful status if waiting for an LPR card to be issued. Non-U.S. citizens who are not LPRs must provide valid passports and visa documentation, including an I-94 Departure Record or an applicable passport admission stamp.

New Host Responsibilities & Visitor Requirements During COVID-19
(
Updated June 13, 2022)

PNNL Site COVID-19 Community Levels are available here.
NOTE:  This process is specific to visitors; there is a different process for sub-contractors.

Prior to any visitor arriving to campus, hosts should follow these steps.

  • Review current visitor requirements (below).
  • Email the visitor the daily self-checklist available on Scout.
  • Email the visitor the Certification of Vaccination form available on Scout (if in the Medium or High Community Level).  Completed certification forms should be emails to ^PNNL Non-Staff Attestation non.staff.attestation@pnnl.gov.
  • Provide appropriate testing information (if in the Medium or High Community Level).
    • Visitors may submit a PCR test result or a proctored antigen test result. Self-administered home test kits are not acceptable.
    • Hosts can check validation status of their visitors by reviewing this report.
    • If a visitor is accessing campus for multiple days, they will need to provide a negative COVID-19 test every 3 days during their visit.
    • Hosts can check the testing status of their visitors, by reviewing this report.
    • If a visitor is not remaining compliant with testing and their attestation status continues to be something other than fully vaccinated, their badge, keys and computer access will be disabled, and they may not access a PNNL site.
    • Hosts will be responsible for ensuring badges and keys are returned.

Low Community Level

When a PNNL location is in the Low Community Level all PNNL visitors are required to complete the daily self-checklist.

Unvaccinated visitors are required to social distance from others.

Medium Community Level

When a PNNL location is in the Medium Community Level, PNNL visitors are required to

  • Attest to vaccination status and
  • Complete the daily self-checklist.

If the visitor is unvaccinated or declines to attest, they are required to

  • Provide a negative COVID test within the previous 3 days prior to coming to a campus, and every 3 days while on campus.
  • Social distance from others, and
  • Complete the daily health checklist.

High Community Level

When a PNNL location is in the High Community Level, all PNNL visitors are required to

  • Attest to vaccination status,
  • Complete the daily self-checklist, and
  • Wear a face covering when indoors.

If the visitor is unvaccinated or declines to attest, they are required to

  • Provide a negative COVID test within the previous 3 days prior to arriving to a PNNL location, and every 3 days while on campus, and
