Visitor Requirements
Federal regulations require that visitors receive authorization prior to arrival at PNNL, and that they get a visitor’s badge upon arrival on campus. Please read the following badging procedures for U.S. citizens and foreign nationals:
U.S. Citizens
U.S. citizens must present valid, government-issued photo identification such as a U.S. passport or state-issued driver’s license. State driver’s licenses and identification cards must meet the REAL-ID ACT OF 2005 standards established by the Department of Homeland Security.
Visitors with state driver’s licenses or identification cards that do not comply with REAL ID standards will be permitted access to facilities only when escorted by a PNNL employee.
Foreign Nationals
Lawful Permanent Residents (LPR) of the United States must present a valid LPR card or evidence of lawful status if waiting for an LPR card to be issued. Non-U.S. citizens who are not LPRs must provide valid passports and visa documentation, including an I-94 Departure Record or an applicable passport admission stamp.
Visitor Requirements During COVID-19 (Updated March 1, 2023)
As part of our safe work practices during the COVID-19 pandemic, all staff, visitors, and sub-contractors are required to self-monitor for COVID-19 symptoms and do not report to a PNNL site if you have ANY symptoms.
Have you experienced any of the following?
- Fever or chills
- Cough
- Sore throat
- Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing
- Fatigue
- Muscle or body aches
- New loss of taste and smell
- Congestion or runny nose
- Nausea or vomiting
- Diarrhea
- A positive COVID-19 test result
- Awaiting a COVID-19 test result due to symptoms
This list does not include all possible symptoms. Symptoms may appear 2-14 days after exposure to the virus. Anyone can have mild to severe symptoms.
If you are a close contact, you do not need to isolate regardless of vaccination status unless you develop symptoms or test positive. You may continue to come to a PNNL campus, but you need to wear a high-quality face covering around others for 10 days, and test on day six after your last known exposure.
In addition to self-monitoring for symptoms, all visitors and sub-contractors must follow the identified PNNL COVID-19 safety protocols for the current Community Level.
