- PNNL conducted high-resolution wave hindcast data in the Salish Sea using the unstructured SWAN model. The work was conducted in collaboration with Washington Sea Grant and Climate Impact Group (CIG) and the University of Washington. The university's work was part of the Washington Coastal Resilience Project (WCRP), which was funded by NOAA Regional Coastal Resilience. The hindcast data are hosted in the CIG website and made available to the public: https://data.cig.uw.edu/picea/mauger/2019_03_WCRP/DATA/PNNL_Waves/Model_Data/
- Funded by the U.S. Department of Energy's Water Power Technologies Office, PNNL is conducting long-term wave hindcasts to support wave resource characterization effort in the U.S. EEZs in the Pacific Ocean. The high-resolution and long-term (32-year) wave hindcast data sets can be downloaded free of charge from the Amazon Web Services Open Data, a database maintained by DOE's National Renewable Energy Laboratory.
