The ConCord Initiative supports the enhancement of powerline corridors through innovation, partnerships, and the sharing of information. Below are available resources to support a better understanding of physical transmission infrastructure, economic development opportunities, and more. 

• Transmission Corridors as Multifunctional Landscapes: New vision and transdisciplinary approaches to shape energy futures. A new article by Ko et al. in Landscape and Urban Planning (2026) examines how transmission rights-of-way can be designed to deliver ecological, recreational, and community benefits alongside their core electricity-delivery function. Drawing on multiple case studies, the authors illustrate how policy innovation, public engagement, and landscape design tools can translate unused space into corridor-scale spatial strategies that support habitat, trails, and adaptation to wildfire.
• Multifunctional Transmission Corridors: The Case for Integrating Local and Landscape Benefits into Transmission Corridors:  A collaborative paper inspired by the Designing Multi-Benefit Transmission Corridors workshop at the University of Pennsylvania on August 15, 2025. This paper offers insights into transmission management and planning that can help utilities enhance multifunctionality within their transmission corridors. It also serves as a valuable resource for informing and engaging the public.
• Designing Multi-Benefit Transmission Corridors Workshop Brief: This workshop brief developed for a participatory workshop hosted at the University of Pennsylvania on August 15th. The brief provides foundational materials, case studies, examples, and more.
• An Introduction to Transmission Infrastructure: This presentation provides a detailed introduction to the electric grid and transmission system, infrastructure, siting and safety, an overview of transmission corridors, and common questions and answers.
