PNNL forensic toxicologist has been invited to serve on a committee of experts charged with improving U.S. strategies for preventing, countering, and responding to chemical terrorism threats.

The three-year project funded by DOE’s Basic Energy Sciences program will focus on using electrochemistry to capture ambient carbon dioxide.

Deepika Malhotra, an organic chemist at PNNL, will lend her expertise to help shape the content and quality of Pollutants a new, interdisciplinary, open access, journal focusing on a range of environmental science research.

Malhotra, a chemist, will apply her expertise on designing and creating modular solvents for carbon capture, acid gas separations, catalysis, and rare earth metal extractions to provide constructive review for the submitted manuscripts.

Geochemistry postdoctoral research assistant Quin R.S. Miller has been elected to a three-year term on the Clay Minerals Society Council.
