Testing and Validation Room 2
T&V2 is designed to test system performance under designer specifications—prototypes and unit-level systems—with dedicated test rooms that can accommodate battery systems up to 100 kW and 400 kWh for validation of equipment at scales relevant to grid storage. We do not test to failure (i.e., destructive testing).
This larger test environment is designed for:
• Battery systems, components, and chemistries up to 400 kWH
• 6 DC battery cyclers capable of up to 1000 Vdc input and 100 kW charge/discharge limit
• 2 AC grid simulators capable of up to 480 VAC 96 kW charge/discharge
Access and Space Requirements
Safety is a priority with the design of these testing rooms, equipped with a highly engineered safety system and cameras that monitor for events, such as thermal runaway or off-gassing of the battery.
Six test rooms—four rooms accommodate up to 237 ft² and two others up to 316 ft²—each accessible for systems that can be moved through door openings 84.5in. wide by 118.5 in. tall.

Additionally, these spaces require that systems connect with the provided terminal connections—Amphenol SurLok Plus.
