About
Data-Model ConvergenceĀ
Data-Model Convergence (DMC) is a multi-disciplinary PNNL Initiative that applies co-design to develop heterogeneous computing capabilities that provide game-changing acceleration for heterogeneous workload challenge problems.
The DMC is organized into two key thrust areas that highlight the priorities for DMC investment, and focus on opportunities for co-design collaborations among DMC projects that bridge these thrust areas.
The Converged Application Thrust Area leverages existing capabilities for ongoing development efforts in physical sciences or complex engineering systems analysis and data analytics methods which include artificial intelligence and machine learning and graph analytics.
The Heterogeneous Computing Thrust Area focuses on the system software stack that maps converged applications to conceptual heterogeneous processor, node and system architecture designs.
DMC combines the talent of 50 staff, including computer architects, domain scientists (power grid engineers, chemists, biologists, subsurface scientists), computer scientists, programmers, data scientists, technicians, and support professionals.
