Researchers studying solid phase processing (SPP) at Pacific Northwest National Laboratory (PNNL) are passionate about developing better, greener, and more affordable products through advanced manufacturing solutions. To accomplish this, SPP researchers conduct interdisciplinary research that advances manufacturing processes and improves understanding of fundamental physics and materials science.

The SPP team at PNNL includes over 80 researchers with expertise in materials sciences, physics, metallurgy, and mechanical, chemical, electrical and computer engineering, and much more.
