Abstract

The purpose of this core model proposal is: 1) To incorporate state-level crude oil, coal, and natural gas resources. This will provide a more detailed representation of United States fossil fuel resource production by creating inter-state competition within the national supply sector and intra-state competition among different types of fossil fuel resources. 2) To ensure that the sum of state-level fossil fuel resource availability and production aligns with USA region fossil fuel resources from the GCAM core.
