Databases

  • Portal and Repository for Information on Marine Renewable Energy (PRIMRE): This database provides a central access point for seven marine energy knowledge hubs. The data and information available through PRIMRE range from power performance data and environmental effects reports to project deployment data and testing guidance.
  • Tethys Marine Energy Knowledge Base: As the marine energy industry develops, there is uncertainty around the potential environmental effects of installing devices. The Tethys knowledge base provides access to documents and information about the potential and observed environmental effects of marine energy, supporting the Ocean Energy Systems – Environmental Initiative (OES-Environmental). Relevant documents about the environmental effects of marine energy systems and impact mitigation strategies from around the world are compiled into a table. Results can be narrowed using the keyword filters on the right or with search terms entered in the text box, including targeted searches.

  • Management Measures Tool for Marine Energy: A tool that shares management and mitigation measures for reducing environmental effects from past or current marine energy projects. The tool serves as a reference to help manage potential risks for future projects. Results can be refined by selecting from the drop-down menus or entering a search term.
  • Tethys Engineering Knowledge Base: This knowledge base collates technical and engineering information about marine energy, including wave, current, and salinity gradient technologies. The database includes information on device designs, site characterizations, technology performance, energy characterizations, and operation and maintenance. Results can be refined by selecting from the keyword filters on the right or by searching for terms.
  • Marine Energy Projects Database: A resource that provides up-to-date information on marine energy projects, test sites, devices, and organizations in the United States and around the world. The database includes information on the development and deployment of wave, current, ocean thermal, and salinity gradient energy projects.
