Objectives
The main objective of this project is to develop methodologies, mechanisms and support tools to coordinate the resources and restoration processes in the TDC systems to speed up the restoration of TDC systems as a whole.
This project will fundamentally transform power system restoration from existing “silo” approaches to a holistic and coordinated approach; and address the key issues preventing this transition: lack of a coordination mechanism and lack of support tools; and also significantly accelerate the restoration process of T&D&C systems as a whole while minimizing the recovery cost and the adverse impact on the customers. It will become a major advance for power system restoration methodologies and supporting techniques. The main outcomes of the project include guidelines for utilities sharing information and coordinating restoration process, methods and algorithms for generating coordinated, time-sequential restoration procedures after emergency or disasters.
