Our artificial intelligence (AI) and data analytics capability develops and applies cutting-edge computational tools and methods derived from data science and applied math, advanced architectures, software engineering, and human-centered computing.
This work embraces multidisciplinary collaborations that bring together experts in data science and computing with domain experts throughout Pacific Northwest National Laboratory (PNNL) and across the nation to craft solutions to problems that really matter in security, energy, and science. Our portfolio covers the full data analytics lifecycle, from data acquisition and management to analysis and decision support. Expertise in the capability spans research, engineering, and operational support.
AI has enabled a new generation of applications, opening the door to breakthroughs in many aspects of daily life. From situational awareness to threat analysis and detection, online signals to system assurance, PNNL is advancing the frontiers of scientific research and national security by applying AI to scientific problems. Our data and graph analytics technologies have been deployed across domains, including threat detection for national security, cyber analytics, scientific computing, intellectual property portfolio analysis, energy grid reliability, environmental safety, training, and law enforcement.
