Design Your ICON Approach
There are multiple pathways to start designing your ICON approach. Below are resources to get you started. If you would like to meet with the Cooperative’s leadership or have ideas for new resources, please reach out to ICONS@pnnl.gov.
“How to ICON” Worksheet
This set of questions can be considered as an individual or discussed with a team. It encourages you to examine your project details through the ICON lens so that you intentionally make decisions to reach your desired outcomes. You will continue to get value from these questions if you come back to them throughout the lifecycle of your project, rather than just at one point in time.

“ICON Studio I” Jamboard
This Jamboard is designed as an interactive version of the first part of the “How to ICON” worksheet that can be used in a workshop setting. The link below is view only but can be downloaded as a pdf. It can also be duplicated and directly edited by any logged in google account. https://tinyurl.com/How-to-ICON-jamboard
ICON Special Collection
This special issue of 19 commentary articles in Earth and Space Sciences was written in open, collaborative writing teams. Each article discusses opportunities and challenges to doing ICON science in different geoscience disciplines. The introductory article for the collection discusses ICON more broadly and how the collection was created.
