Artificial intelligence (AI) is revolutionizing science by accelerating data analysis, uncovering insights, and creating sophisticated models beyond human capability. Specifically, generative AI can produce original content such as text, images, and music from training data. This technology holds significant potential for scientific breakthroughs, enabling new methods of research, simulations, and creative problem-solving that were previously unimaginable.

Pacific Northwest National Laboratory’s (PNNL’s) Generative AI (GenAI) Investment aims to harness the power of generative AI to drive innovation across the science, energy, and security research domains. Leveraging PNNL’s expertise in foundational and applied AI, along with investments in the Center for AI and the Center for Cloud Computing, GenAI pushes to discover new AI methodologies and technologies.
