Artificial intelligence (AI) is revolutionizing science by speeding up data analysis, uncovering insights, and creating sophisticated models beyond human capability. AI can generate technical contributions such as code, image understanding, and autonomous agents. This technology holds significant potential for scientific breakthroughs, enabling innovative research, simulations, and creative problem-solving that were previously unimaginable.

PNNL's Generative AI (GenAI) Investment aims to drive innovation in science, energy, and security by harnessing and developing novel AI methodologies and technologies. This initiative leverages PNNL’s expertise in both foundational and applied AI, including partnerships with the Center for AI and the Center for Continuum Computing.
