James Knox
Biography
James M. Knox was born and raised in El Paso, Texas. He attended the Colorado School of Mines where he earned his bachelor's degree in engineering with a mechanical specialty. For the next 11 years Mr. Knox worked for Olson Engineering Inc. He ran branch offices out of his home's in Socorro and Albuquerque, NM serving as project engineer, project manager and team lead for numerous large geophysical/civil investigations around the globe.
In July of 2015, Mr. Knox began working for Sandia National Laboratories in Albuquerque, NM and served as the lead Sandia Nuclear Arms Control Treaties (NACT) technologist tasked with building and maintaining infrasound/seismic system arrays at the Facility for Acceptance and Calibration (FACT) Site. In June of 2019, Mr. Knox joined Pacific Northwest National Laboratories where he has continued his role as a site coordinator and a health and safety advisor of a DOE funded (NA22) project at Blue Canyon Dome in Socorro, NM. He is a part of a team that works on the COLLAB project at the Sanford Underground Research Facility (SURF) in Lead, SD and will continue to be a part of multi-organizational and diverse teams that work on and solve complex and logistically challenging investigations and projects.
