Waters Finalizes Joint Appointment with University of Washington School of Medicine
Joint appointments at UW and OSU help PNNL’s Katrina Waters further collaborations in infectious disease and toxicology research

Katrina Waters, division director for the Biological Sciences Directorate at PNNL, is now a joint appointee with the University of Washington (UW)’s School of Medicine in the Department of Comparative Medicine. Her faculty title is UW-PNNL Distinguished Faculty Fellow.
In effect since mid-December, this appointment is intended to help further opportunities for UW students and faculty in infectious disease research, work with sponsors on joint proposals that use the college’s facilities, and provide educational seminars for veterinary residents.
Waters holds another joint appointment at Oregon State University in the Department of Environmental and Molecular Toxicology. This appointment furthers collaborations with Oregon State University faculty in public health and toxicology research, particularly for a long-running collaboration studying Superfund sites, primarily in the Pacific Northwest.
