In a new video series, Pacific Northwest National Laboratory (PNNL) is highlighting six scientific and technical experts in the national security domain throughout the fall. Each was promoted to scientist and engineer level 5, one of PNNL’s most senior research roles, earlier this year and has made significant contributions to the national security science, technology, and innovations developed at PNNL.

David Manz is a cybersecurity researcher who is working with cyber-physical systems to better protect the critical infrastructure.

“For far too long we’ve relied on gut feeling and best guess in our research and development,” said Manz. “What we really need to do is take a look at the foundational science and research methods for cybersecurity.”
