PNNL Technology in the Marketplace

Security

An instrument developed at PNNL is more sensitive than a canine’s nose and identifies explosives and narcotics vapors in real time at levels previously undetectable by other conventional sampling technologies.

PNNL has improved the speed and performance of airport passenger screening.

Energy Storage

PNNL develops high-capacity batteries for the energy grid, pushing them to last longer and cost less. Some of these high-capacity microbatteries are the size of a grain of rice.

Materials

PNNL innovation fabricates wires, rods, and tubes directly from metal alloys.

Nanoscience

PNNL has innovated a breakthrough in imaging science—the Artificial-Intelligence-Guided Transmission Electron Microscope (AutoEM).
