We were pleased to host Department of Energy (DOE) Secretary Chris Wright at Pacific Northwest National Laboratory (PNNL). During his visit, researchers shared how PNNL applies expertise in chemistry, biology, and computing to accelerate scientific discovery and deliver solutions that strengthen energy reliability and national security.

As a DOE Office of Science laboratory, PNNL leads research in areas essential to the nation’s future, such as advancing AI and automation for faster scientific insight, accelerating materials science innovation, developing grid control and energy storage technologies for affordable and secure electricity, and strengthening national security.
