What is Considered Reliable Information?

Abstract

Pre-editorial draft chapter for book titled: "Nano- Safety: What we need to know to Protect Workers" edited by Dr. Dominick Fazarro- University of Texas at Tyler. Chapter 6 addresses two complementary aspects of communicating information related to all things “nano”. The first of these is the general concept of reliable information and its compatible concept of objective evidence. Second we will address the overuse and sometimes conflicting use of the modifier and short-form or prefix “nano”. How these two complementary aspects of communicating information are employed can complicate the usability of information, especially when considering the use of available research and impacts of nanotechnologies on worker safety and health.
