We are developing the Visual Steering and Modeling Environment (VSME) to enable the visual control and steering of smart grid simulations as well as the visualization of simulation behaviors, conditions, and results. Visual steering will allow planners and operators to visually adjust the parameters to a suite of coordinated and dynamic smart grid simulations and immediately see the effects in multi-perspective visualizations. A configurable dashboard connects and integrates parameters, simulations, data, and visualizations into a combined and coherent display.
