They Work But Do They Smell?

Abstract

This half page article describes results of a study PNNL conducted for the Oregon Dept of Parks and Recreation to assess ammonia odors in Oregon park restrooms that have flushless urinals. The study found levels of ammonia in the air near the urinals were below levels detectible by the average person (i.e., below 2 parts per million). The article was submitted 1/29/03 to Partner Update, a newsletter published by Potomac Communications Group for the US Dept of Energy's Rebuild America program.
