Superparamagnetic CoFe2O4@Au with high specific absorption rate and intrinsic loss power for magnetic fluid hyperthermia applications

Abstract

Synthesis of CoFe2O4 NPs surface modified with gold (Au) by a chemical method is presented. Induction heating properties of MNPs are investigated and correlated with magneto-structural properties. Specific absorption rate (SAR) and intrinsic loss power (ILP) calculated for these NPs within the human tolerable range of frequency and amplitude suggests their potential in magnetic particle hyperthermia therapy.
