Six Steps to Successful Facility Energy Management

Abstract

Experience at PNNL has led to six steps for successful energy management: 1) changing staff behavior, 2) re-commissioning facility systems, 3) modernizing the infrastructure company-wide, 3) diversifying energy supplies, 5) using alternative financing, and 6) evaluating effectiveness. This article explains how to translate these principles into the practical steps necessary to implement a sustainable energy management strategy.
