Abstract

The article by Selcuk, Zhou, and Selloni provides a model on the formation of black titania representing how a collective, long distance and long time scale phenomenon may be captured at the atomic level, and demonstrates the critical importance of defect interactions over great distances. Moreover, it illustrates the importance of studies on materials structure/property under synthesis conditions.
