The application of science and technology to environmental cleanup is critical as government agencies and key audiences balance the need for steady progress with pressing budget constraints. Pacific Northwest National Laboratory, in partnership with universities and industry, uses its diverse scientific and engineering capabilities to translate new discoveries into solutions that help the U.S. Department of Energy reduce the cost, time and risk of cleanup throughout the DOE complex. This article gives a brief overview of PNNL's contributions to accelerated Hanford Site cleanup.
