Renewables Integration Model Concept of Operations

Abstract

The purpose of this document is to give the Renewables Integration Model (RIM) designers and the designers of the systems that deliver other services in RIM’s infrastructure an overview of how the system will work and what its capabilities are expected to be. This is not a requirements document, although some requirements can be derived from it. This document addresses: 1) The method of initiating interaction with RIM by the User. 2) The approach used for controlling the interaction once it has been initiated. 3) The autonomous means in RIM for detecting and dealing with abnormal conditions. 4) The methods to be used to terminate user interaction. 5) The expected capabilities of the RIM. 6) The means to be used when the capability of the system is being approached or exceeded. 7) The means to be used to fix bugs and improve the software. 8) User roles and responsibilities.
