The rate-controlling substrate of nitrilotriacetate for biodegradation by Chelatobacter heintzii

Abstract

Co-disposal of anthropogenic chelating agents such as Nitrilotriacetate (NTA) with radioactive and heavy metals can enhance environmental transport of the metals, extending subsurface contamination and threatening groundwater sources.
