Observation of an alternative ? c0ð2(P) candidate in e + e - ? J/?DD

Abstract

We perform a full amplitude analysis of the process eþe- ? J=?DD¯ , where D refers to either D0 or Dþ. A new charmoniumlike state Xð3860Þ that decays to DD¯ is observed with a significance of 6.5s. Its mass is ð3862þ26-32 þ40 -13Þ MeV=c2, and its width is ð201 þ154-67 þ88-82 Þ MeV. The JPC ¼ 0þþ hypothesis is favored over the 2þþ hypothesis at the level of 2.5s.
