New versions of the NRC fuel performance codes, FRAPCON-3 and FRAPTRAN are available to members of the code users group. FRAPCON-3.4 and FRAPTRAN 1.4 include the following model improvements. Improvements were made to various material property models that were biased relative to the latest data. Cladding properties such as creep, growth, corrosion and hydrogen pickup were updated for Zircaloy and advanced alloys. Modifications were made to model some new fuel rod designs. Finally, modifications were made to improve transient predictions for both reactivity initiated accidents and loss of coolant accidents.
