Activation rates were measured in Al, Au, Co, Cu, Fe, In, Nb, Ni, Ti, and Zr foils at well-defined geometries in neutron fields created by stopping 113 and 256 MeV proton beams in thick Al and U targets. The neutron spectra were independently measured using time-of-flight spectrometry. Comparison of these data sets provides integral testing and some adjustment of the poorly known activation cross sections at higher energies.
