Identification and Localization of the CupB Protein Involved in Constitutive CO2 uptake in the Cyanobacterium, Synechocystis sp. Strain PCC 6803

Abstract

The CupB protein was identified in the membranes of Synechocystis sp. strain PCC 6803 in which CupB was tagged with cMyc-6His. Both CupA and NdhH were detected in a highly resolved subcellular fraction containing two protein complexes of about 450 and 550 kDa, obtained after nickel column and gel filtration chromatography of the membranes solubilized with n-dodecyl-ß-D-maltoside.
