Global topology of contact force networks: Insight into shear thickening suspensions

Abstract

Network theory analysis of the global topology of a contact force network has been applied to a simulated shear thickening 2D fluid. The geodesic index and void parameter are introduced as new computational metrics and elucidate the relationships between global particle interactions and connectivity with bulk suspension behavior.
