Abstract

Dr. Patricia Paviet will present as the GIF Education and Training Working Group Chair an oral paper titled: “Generation IV International Forum – Webinar Series from 2016 to 2024”. The Generation IV International Forum (GIF) - Education and Training Working Group (ETWG) was created in November 2015 and launched a GIF webinar series in September 2016. Since that date, the webinar series has continuously expanded to meet the growing demand pf developing a skilled and trained workforce. The objectives of the webinars are 1) to educate about Gen IV reactor systems as well as the nuclear fuel cycle, 2) address on-going research in support of reactors development and deployment, 3) maintain, preserve, and transfer knowledge of these advanced reactors, and 4) encourage and stimulate students to join the workforce through a Pitch your Gen IV Research competition, as well as support the next generation workforce development.
