June 2017’s fourth International Conference and Workshop on Transactive Energy again brought together representatives of government, industry, utilities, vendor organizations and academia to advance understanding and implementation of transactive energy. The core principle of transactive energy is to combine economic and control techniques, leading to improvements in power grid reliability and efficiency. It encompasses techniques for managing the centralized and local generation, flow, and consumption of electric power within an electric power system through the use of market-based methods while maintaining grid reliability.
