Finding the Right Management Support Standards

Abstract

Organizations are often confronted with the challenging task of identifying existing standards developed by standards development organizations that potentially address a specific subject. Rarely have these existing standards been generated specifically for the function and purpose driving the standards search. Often, many standards will be found that only generally address a subject. The challenge lies in sorting through all of them to identify the standards, or more likely, parts of those standards, that apply to the specific function and purpose driving the search. If the function and purpose is at all complex, this task will be very challenging.
