Enhanced Oxidative Desulfurization of Model Fuels Using a Film-Shear Reactor

Abstract

A film-shear reactor was used to enhance the oxidative desulfurization of thiophenes in fuels. At selected conditions, the film-shear reactor provided up to 55% removal of benzothiophene from a model fuel in only seconds at temperatures as low as 10 °C.
