Quantitative scenarios produced by energy-economic models are needed to inform decision-making about uncertain futures. Now research shows that these energy scenarios are subsequently used in different ways by users not involved in initial scenario development. However, in the absence of clear guidance from modelers, users may place too much or too little confidence in scenario assumptions and results.
