Benefits of Energy Storage for Washington, D.C. : Analysis for the Department of Energy and Environment

Abstract

This report analyzes the potential for using energy storage to create energy savings for residents of Washington, D.C. in light of recent increases in energy market prices. It describes the role of energy storage in avoiding market costs, quantifies the specific benefits that could be achieved with energy storage deployments in Washington, D.C., and then presents case studies of how utilities and other states have created programs to achieve cost savings with energy storage.
