Lab-Level Communications Priority Topics
Computing
The Quantum Algorithms and Architecture for Domain Science (QuAADS) Initiative at Pacific Northwest National Laboratory is using quantum computing to address domain science problems. The QuAADS approach will combine fundamental advancements in computing approaches with applications-focused method development, demonstrating the quantum advantage for a range of scientific problems.
The team will bring technical advances in quantum algorithms, algorithms, and hybrid computing to applications in topic areas such as chemistry, grid engineering, and atmospheric science. By deeply engaging problems identified by domain experts with a cross-cutting computing approach, the QuAADS team will be able to identify patterns and solve common problems more effectively.
QuAADS consists of core technical advancements in quantum computing approaches and applications-focused projects. An overarching goal is to develop scalable algorithms for 100–200 qubit simulations, providing key insights into practical quantum computing.
