The QuAADS Initiative seeks to develop the computing processes, tools, and knowledge to transition from current technologies to quantum computing technologies by leveraging codesign and hybrid computing approaches.

What is QuAADS?

The Quantum Algorithms and Architecture for Domain Science (QuAADS) Initiative uses quantum computing to address domain science problems. The QuAADS approach combines fundamental advancements in computing with application-focused method development to demonstrate quantum utility/advantage for a range of scientific problems.

The team will bring technical advances in quantum algorithms, algorithms, and hybrid computing to applications in various areas:

  • scientific computing
  • quantum chemistry
  • nonlinear transport  
  • grid engineering and optimization.

The QuAADS team develops novel quantum algorithms to address outstanding challenges across multiple scientific disciplines using quantum hardware.

What is the goal of QuAADS?

The overarching goal is to develop scalable algorithms for 100–200 qubit simulations, which will provide key insights into practical quantum computing.
