Staci Herman
Staci Herman
Biography
Staci Herman joined Pacific Northwest National Laboratory (PNNL) in 2019 and leads the Radiochemistry Beta team in the National Security Directorate.
In her role, Herman helps lead a diverse group of scientists focusing on rapid separations for nuclear forensics and consequence management. She works to develop new separation techniques for actinides and activation and fission products from various media. She is also training with the Federal Radiological Monitoring and Assessment Center to assist in gamma spectroscopy assessment.
Prior to PNNL, Herman was a graduate student at the University of Cincinnati, and during this time she completed multiple internships at Lawerence Livermore National Laboratory working with the Marshall Islands program monitoring long-lived radionuclide behavior in the local biota.
