Biography
Shan Osborn is the Portfolio Lead and a developer for the Drupal Capability at Pacific Northwest National Laboratory (PNNL), working with developers, researchers, and sponsors, collaborating across the Department of Energy (DOE) national laboratories, and partnering with national and international teams to create and manage a portfolio of over 50 websites for various programs across the Laboratory. Shan enjoys contributing to effective digital solutions that help PNNL support science and technology initiatives.
With over 30 years of experience in the research industry, Shan specializes in web development, information architecture, web governance, content strategy and analysis, and technical writing and editing. She helps lead and consult on Drupal and other web-based projects that support PNNL’s work for the DOE and other government agencies, working to deliver reliable and thoughtful solutions in collaboration with her colleagues and partners.
Shan is also certified as a Scrum Master, Scrum Product Owner, and Agile Facilitator, and uses these skills to guide projects and teams. As PNNL's web governance lead and website accessibility subject matter expert, Shan leads the Website and Application Governance and External Release (WAGER) process, providing insight into organizational and federal web development governance requirements and standards and website accessibility.
Beyond her technical role, Shan is a core team member of the Associated Diverse Abilities @PNNL Team (ADAPT) employee resource group, which supports efforts to create a more inclusive workplace for individuals of all abilities.
Shan brings a steady and experienced approach to her work, regularly contributing to projects and partnerships that align with PNNL’s mission while fostering collaboration across teams.
