Biography

Sam Rosenberg is a data scientist and building scientist in the Building Systems group at Pacific Northwest National Laboratory (PNNL). He joined PNNL in 2019 after graduating from the University of Oregon. Since then, Sam has focused on research in energy-efficient residential building technologies, HVAC, grid load flexibility, indoor air quality, and utility program analysis.

Beginning in 2025, Sam has been supporting the U.S. Department of Energy on detail, providing technical expertise and strategic guidance for the Building Technologies Office, with a focus on HVAC and controls. He holds a master’s degree in data science from UC Berkeley. Outside of work, Sam enjoys cooking, skiing, cycling, traveling, and spending time outdoors.
