Roger Cass
Biography
Roger serves as the Industry Sector Manager for Microsoft, Amazon, and Google; the Chief Architect for the Center for Continuum Computing (C3); and the Enterprise Architect for Research Computing at Pacific Northwest National Laboratory (PNNL). His responsibilities include cloud strategy; relationships with Cloud Service Providers (CSP) like Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure, and Google Cloud Platform (GCP); and assisting research teams in effectively utilizing computing resources to deliver their mission objectives. Roger has expertise in both on-premises and cloud technology, software development, DevOps, and Enterprise Architecture.
Before joining PNNL in 2023, Roger served in a variety of business and technology leadership roles over many years. His roles ranged from software engineer, architect, and project manager to senior executive. He earned a BS and MS in civil engineering at Brigham Young University (BYU), followed by a PhD in mechanical engineering at Purdue University, with a focus on applied computing in engineering.
