Biography

Margaret Daly, PhD, is an Earth scientist at Pacific Northwest National Laboratory with expertise spanning ecosystem service modeling, energy resilience, and coastal oceanography. Her current work includes assessing offshore transmission impacts on coastal communities, developing artificial intelligence tools for marine monitoring, and forecasting landfast ice breakup in the Arctic. During her PhD work at Stanford University, she conducted research on kelp forest hydrodynamics, analyzed illegal fishing risk in seafood supply chains, and developed deep learning methods for sea otter detection from aerial imagery.
