Biography

Kelsey Adkisson joined PNNL in January 2020 as a communications professional supporting the Energy and Environment Directorate.

Ms. Adkisson previously worked at the Oregon Department of Fish & Wildlife for 10 years, where she was a Project Leader and Analyst. She oversaw communications and customer relations for the marine division. She was responsible for strategic planning, mission support, evaluating communication effectiveness, social media, brand management, scientific writing, graphic design, media relations and policy analyses. In 2017, she was honored with a statewide award for exceptional outreach and customer service.

In 2013, Ms. Adkisson was selected for a fellowship with Oregon Governor’s Office. In this capacity, she covered scientific research, policy and the application to environmental issues. She comes from a science background, starting her career as a researcher and technician focused on population biology and natural resource management.

Ms. Adkisson holds a B.S. degree in Environmental Science from Western Washington University (Bellingham, WA) and a M.S. degree in Marine Biology from Nicholls State University (Thibodaux, LA).
