Biography
As the Interim Division Director for Digital Operations within the Computing and Information Technology (CIT) group at Pacific Northwest National Laboratory, John oversees the enterprise infrastructure that powers laboratory workflows and innovation. From managing data centers, networks, desktops, and cloud platforms to steering digital transformation efforts, John plays a pivotal role in enabling seamless and efficient digital operations. With a focus on fostering collaboration and leveraging technology to drive scientific and operational advancements, their leadership supports the infrastructure critical to PNNL's mission.
Since joining PNNL in 2016 as the IT Manager for the Client and Cloud Infrastructure Team, John has contributed to optimizing enterprise systems, including Office 365 implementations, advanced cloud solutions, and robust connectivity frameworks. Prior to PNNL, John held managerial roles at Lockheed Martin/Leidos, where they were responsible for the Enterprise Technology & Infrastructure Engineering Team supporting the Hanford Site. Their contributions included overseeing storage, server, virtualization, and operating systems, ensuring reliability and scalability for high-demand environments.
With over 15 years of experience in project management and leadership within the Department of Energy, including work with the Offices of Environmental Management and Science, John is recognized for their ability to translate organizational objectives into impactful technology strategies. John's expertise includes enterprise infrastructure management, cloud computing, and IT system virtualization, complemented by exceptional project management skills.
John holds an MBA and a BA in Business Administration with a concentration in Management Information Systems from Washington State University. A certified Project Management Professional (PMP), John remains committed to professional development, championing operational efficiency and innovation in every aspect of their role.
